Porsche (German car brand) 911 Turbo 2nd generation 930 model
In September 1963, the Porsche 911 (first generation Type 901), the eternal icon of the sports car, was presented to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show as the successor to the Porsche 356, Porsche's first production car. Developed by a team led by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, grandson of Porsche's founder Ferdinand Porsche, the Porsche 911 (first generation Type 901) was designed from a completely blank sheet of paper, unlike the 356, which used basic components from the VW Beetle. It was a practical sports car with an extremely unique mechanism: an air-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine mounted at the rear of the car. The air-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, with a crankcase made entirely of aluminium alloy, a dry sump and other progressive design features, delivered 130 PS at 6,100 rpm from a displacement of 2 litres, an extremely high horsepower for a production car at the time. The 911, which went into production in 1964, captivated sports car freaks the world over with its fascinating driving feel and excellent dynamic performance provided by the precision machinery, the strong traction characteristic of the RR layout and its high reliability. But this was only the beginning of a legend. For 33 years, the Porsche 911 continued to be improved while maintaining the basic design of the unique engine and body of its 1964 debut, until 1997, when the baton was passed on to the fifth-generation 911 (Type 996), a completely new design equipped with a liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, which won numerous races, including the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. The 911 was the first class sports car to win numerous races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. During that time, the 911's air-cooled, horizontally opposed engine, which had been updated over the past 33 years to compete with powerful rivals such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, was expanded to a maximum of 3.8 litres, with the most powerful 3.6 litre turbo producing 450 PS at 6,000 rpm. This meant that the Porsche engineers of the time, who introduced the 911 in 1964, had done a great and timeless job. The Porsche 911 is a car that will forever be etched in the annals of automotive history as a rare example of a car that was designed identically but boasted first-class performance over a long period of time. This car is the 930 model, the second generation of the 911, which was unveiled in August 1973. In order to meet the crash safety standards of the time in the USA, the shape of the front and rear bumpers was drastically changed on the 930, and the overall length was extended by 144 mm compared to the 901. In order to comply with emission regulations, Bosch's K-Jetronic fuel injection system was adopted, and emission performance and fuel economy were greatly improved. Porsche introduced further innovations for the 930 911. The 911 Turbo, the first production Porsche with a turbocharged engine, was presented at the 1974 Paris Salon. Porsche had been racing turbocharged 917s in the racing field since 1972, and in the then-popular Can-Am series, the 917s were winning in large numbers due to their overwhelming power and competitiveness. So, although the world's first production turbo-engined model had to give way to the Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire sold in 1962, the appearance of Porsche's first production turbo model, the 911 Turbo at the Paris Salon, caused great excitement among car enthusiasts around the world at the time. The 911 Turbo, which went on sale in 1975, won the admiration of motor journalists and sports car freaks the world over as the ultimate sports car, combining outstanding performance and comfort.
