Amitan Musume (see Wikipedia)
In 2011, the Takaoka Tourism Strategy Network "TR@P" (Trap Takaoka Real Attraction Project), a group of volunteer Takaoka citizens, asked Hidenori Matsubara, an animator from the city, to design a character. The project was initiated because the chairman of TR@P is a classmate of Matsubara's at Takaoka Kogei High School in Toyama Prefecture. A new tourism ambassador for Takaoka City, "Amitan Musume," was announced at the "Hidenori Matsubara Original Art Exhibition" held at the Takaoka City Museum of Art from February 24, 2012. Since then, Amitan-musume has been featured on wrapped trains on the JR Himi and Johata lines, tapestries in the "Manyo Road" free passageway north and south of Takaoka Station, and posters for the Takaoka Tanabata Festival, among others. In March 2013, official cosplayers for Kanon and Cecile, who were selected from the public, began their activities, participating in events in the city and moe character events around Japan. From that year until 2015, a contest for official cosplayers was held every year. In August, it was announced that voice actors Nozomi Yamamoto and actress Elizabeth Marie would be hired to play the roles of Kanon and Cecil, respectively. At the same time, an MMD model of Amitan Musume was announced. In the same year, she was also used as a character in the Takaoka City collaboration dungeon of the game application "Puzzle & Dragons". From January 2014 to February 2015, two novels were serialized simultaneously in the Toyama Shimbun and the Hokuriku edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun. After the serialization ended, "Amitan Musume Kittokito Novels" was released as a book by PHP Kenkyujo. In August of the same year, a four-panel manga was serialized in the Hokuriku Chunichi Shimbun. In November, it was announced that the CD album "Amitansume The First -TAKAOKA KITTOKITO SONGS-" would be released on December 10. It was also announced that Shotaro Morikubo would be the voice actor for the role of Amitanki.
