MAZDA Mazda6 3rd generation GJ series
The third generation of the Atenza (known as Mazda6 outside Japan), which went on sale in 2012. Mazda's new SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, which aims to significantly improve vehicle performance, and a new design theme, "KODO - Soul of Motion," have been fully applied to the Atenza. The new model is the second model to be developed under the new design theme of "KODO - Soul of Motion". The wheelbase differs between the sedan and wagon, The wheelbase of the sedan is 2830 mm, while that of the wagon is 2750 mm. This is due to the marketing result that sedan users place more importance on the rear passenger space than wagon users. The third-generation Atenza was also the first passenger car in the world to use a capacitor as a storage battery, and it was a model in which Mazda's environmental, energy-saving, and safety technologies were lavishly applied. As a result, the Atenza is highly competitive in the D-segment, where strong rivals such as the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class are crowded.
